Let's Change the Story:
Violence Against Women in Australia
Australia has a choice. We can change the story that currently sees a woman murdered every week by a current or former partner. We can choose a future where women and their children live free from violence. Ending violence against women starts with gender equality.
Inspiring The Future - Redraw The Balance
This powerful film from MullenLowe London provocatively captures how, early on in their education, children already define career opportunities as male and female. When asked to draw a firefighter, surgeon and a fighter pilot, 61 pictures were drawn of men and only 5 were female. It's time to #redrawthebalance. Find out how you can support the cause by visiting: inspiringthefuture.org.
Always #LikeAGirl
Join Always in our epic battle to keep girls' confidence high during puberty and beyond. Using #LikeAGirl as an insult is a hard knock against any adolescent girl. And since the rest of puberty's really no picnic either, it's easy to see what a huge impact it can have on a girl's self-confidence. Making a start by showing them that doing things #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing!

Beyond Sparkles and Superheroes
Children receive messages about gender everyday through behaviours, images, written and spoken words at home, at school and in other settings.
These picture books present child characters in a way that challenges gender stereotypes. They are just a sample of books available on the theme of gender equality or gender equity and have been chosen because they are both enjoyable stories to read with your child and because they represent a range of approaches to the topic of gender equity.
Gender Equality Clothesline Project
The Knox Local Champions for Gender Equality Awards are presented annually to community members for outstanding efforts in leadership and action shown in championing women and girls in Knox.
